  • All-new V-twin cruiser heading for production

CFMoto has only made a tentative move towards the cruiser market in recent years with the CL-C450 parallel twin and CL-C250 single but it’s about to take a bolder step in that direction when it launches the CLC-V250 in the near future.

The bike’s centrepiece is the company’s second V-twin engine, following on from the big, KTM-based unit in the 1250TR-G tourer. Clocking in at exactly 250cc, it’s an under-square design with a 53mm bore and 56.6mm stroke, putting the emphasis on torque rather than outright revs and power. The approval document shows a maximum of 20kW, a couple more than the existing CL-C250 single can achieve.

The V-twin engine lends itself to more traditional cruiser looks, accompanied by a small tank, straight bars on mid-height risers, a low seat and a traditional twin-shock chassis. CFMoto has even given the bike’s upside-down forks the appearance of more traditional right-way-up units by adding cowlings around the stanchions at the bottom.

It’s not all retro, through. The circular headlight unit features a small, rectangular main LED centred in a ring of DRLs, and a single, round, TFT instrument pod sits above it. Bar-end mirrors help keep the styling clean, and the wheels are alloys with machined rims and spokes to add a touch of bling.

Those wheels are both 16-inchers, with fat, high-profile 130/90 and 150/80 rubber front and rear. A longish 1510mm wheelbase reveals that it’s a larger bike than you might expect of a 250cc machine, as does the 178kg kerb weight.

There’s no confirmed launch date yet, but we often see new CFMoto bikes appear in type-approval documents some months ahead of their official unveiling so we’d expect to see confirmation around the time of the company’s 2027 model year launches later this year.
