Suzuki’s GSX-8T and GSX-8TT have been named recipients of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026, marking the first time a Suzuki product has received the honour.
The Red Dot Award, established in 1955, is one of the most recognised design competitions in the world. Entries are assessed across nine criteria including innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability, ecological compatibility, and emotional content.
The jury cited the two models’ balance of heritage and modern design, specifically recognising the transfer of classic visual features into a structured contemporary aesthetic.

The GSX-8T and GSX-8TT are parallel-twin street bikes positioned as neo-retro machines, drawing on Suzuki’s historical design language while pairing it with current engineering.
Both are powered by a parallel-twin engine and are built to cover urban commuting through to longer-distance riding. Ergonomics were a specific focus during development, with the riding position calibrated for comfort and control across a broad range of rider experience levels.

Takashi Ise, Managing Officer and Executive General Manager of Motorcycle Operations at Suzuki, said the award reflects the intent behind both machines.
“Both models are neo-retro street bikes that appeal to the unique and attractive elements of Suzuki’s past iconic models and modern performance. Designed to suit a wide range of riding situations, they offer enjoyment to customers across diverse lifestyles.”
